Paul Eisner becomes President, Mariner Innovations

Maritimer brings global experience to role

SAINT JOHN – A Maritimer with more than two decades of global experience in communications, advanced media technology and cyber security is becoming the new president of Mariner Innovations.

Paul Eisner, who is currently general manager of Mariner Security Solutions, will assume a new expanded role within Mariner Partners, effective October 1.  As president of Mariner Innovations, he will be responsible for the company’s strategic growth, with oversight over all business and technical operations.

“Paul brings an energetic global business perspective and has managed teams in North America, Asia and Europe,” said Curtis Howe, Mariner’s chief executive officer and co-founder.  “Paul successfully led the creation of Mariner Security Solutions, a startup within Mariner that is now a part of Mariner Innovations.  He showed tremendous agility navigating Mariner’s entry into the high growth market of information security services and products and we are looking forward to where he can next take Mariner Innovations.”

A native of Halifax, Eisner started his career in New Brunswick and then worked in Alberta, California and Ontario, holding executive leadership positions at IBM, Harris Corporation and Leitch Technologies.  Outside of Mariner, Eisner chairs the board of directors of Beauceron Security, a cyber-security start up based in Fredericton.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from Acadia University, a Bachelor of Engineering (Industrial) from Dalhousie University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.  Eisner is also a graduate of the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia) Executive Development Program.

Current president of Mariner Innovations Tom Bayne is moving into a part-time advisory role, which will allow him to spend more time with his family.

“Tom Bayne was one of Mariner’s first employees and has made tremendous contributions as a business leader over the past 14 years,” added Howe.  “Quite simply, we would not have achieved the level of growth over this period of time without Tom Bayne.  We will be forever grateful for his dedication and look forward to continuing to work with him during this transition period.”

As one of the largest independent information technology services firms in Atlantic Canada, Mariner has a proven track record of helping clients innovate beyond complexity.  Since opening for business in 2003, Mariner has developed the top pool of senior hands-on executive talent, delivered advanced IT projects worth more than $2 billion and identified and deployed more than a million hours of skilled talent.
